2009 AT&T National Preview
Congressional Country Club
Bethesda, MD
July 2-5, 2009
Purse: $6 Million
Winners Share: $1,080,000
Defending Champion: Anthony Kim
The AT&T National Hosted by Tiger Woods has become a fantastic mid-summer tradition, even after only two years. KJ Choi outdueled a tremendous field in 2007 led, of course, by host Tiger Woods. The following season, Tiger was unfortunately recovering from knee surgery, but fortunately the player that may soon challenge Tiger for the top spot in the world did. Great job Anthony Kim, anybody that was there to witness had to be impressed. The bad news is that the tournament will take a hiatus from the area for two years, but the good news, it is guaranteed to be back, no guessing involved. It will simply be a vacation. That means soak up all of the July 4th week at Congressional that you can this year. Tiger Woods is set to return, and the golf course, by all accounts, will be in its best condition ever.
