Anybody else out there been burned by the “no rain check policy” at Lake Presidential? I have a bad feeling this course is beginning to take on the “we're doing you a favor by letting you play here” attitude we see when courses think they are the only game in town.  You'd think with the current state of the economy and the well documented struggles of the golf industry, that exceptional service would be a given.  Love the layout, hate that policy.

Also, when are we going to see real journalism when it comes to golf course reviews?  It's like reading ads for the course written by the course.  Whiskey Creek, for example, has been in terrible shape for the last couple of years.  I'd like to see some honest reporting about courses that still charge premium rates but don't deliver on premium conditions.  Magazines like Pros n Hackers I guess rely on the advertising from these courses too much to bite the hand that feeds them.
