"Let me get this straight. I'm supposed to win the Masters?"
Not so soon as Golfsmith announced that they were giving away free R9 Drivers if Sergio wins the Masters, the PGA TOUR has announced that it is running a ‘Dress Sergio’ campaign, which will determine what the Spaniard will wear during the second round as he defends his title at The PLAYERS Championship. He is, of course, defending champion and subject to such dog and pony acts.
The tour is asking people to go to pgatour.com/DressSergio and pick one of three adidas outfits for Sergio to wear. From the looks of things, it’s nothing too outlandish, so if you were hoping to slap some polka dots and a clown nose on him by rocking the vote, think again.
After you vote, you can register for a sweepstakes with a grand price $3,000 adidas/Taylor Made golf package. Second place wins a free R9 Driver.
Apparently, that’s not to hard to do anymore, that is if Sergio happens to win the Masters. Starting March 20 and ending on April 11, anybody who buys a Taylor Made R9, R7 limited or the Burner 09 driver will have that price refunded should Garcia win his first major at Augusta National. He could also end up costing his sponsor a lot of money if he does. Something tells me that they don’t mind one bit. Having a Masters Champion in your stable is worth it’s weight in golfin’ gold.
