A city with a host of power players, has just added one of the most powerful. Donald Trump is the new owner of the Lowes Island Club, along the banks of the Potomac in Loudoun County, VA. The 36-hole facility had been on sale for some time with a reported $18 million price tag, a mere drop in the Donald’s bucket.
Trump already owns 7 world class golf courses, but says of Trump National, Washington, D.C.: “This place, when it’s finished, will be the finest club anywhere in the country,” he told The Washington Post last night. “There will be nothing like it. I already own the best ones, so I know.”
Trump guessed that it would take 2 years to transfer, what was already a fantastic property, into the ritzy, detailed oriented style that is prevalent in all of Trump’s golf courses. If you’ve ever been to a Trump property, you’ll know what we mean.
Trump is bringing in Tom Fazio, who designed one of the layouts, to fully remake the two 18-hole layouts in hopes of one day attracting major golf events to Northern Virginia. The clubhouse, pool and other facilities will, of course, also be renovated.
Word is, Trump is expecting a few high powered members to join the ranks, and why not. When he’s done, the new Trump National Washington, D.C. will most likely be something very special.

So..anybody been to Lowes? What do you think Trump is going to do with the place?
The Donald sure has high hopes for Lowes. He was quouted saying something like he is going to make it the best course in the country. He also said Congressional does not stand a chance to hosting Tiger Woods event – meaning after he is done with this new Trump National Washington DC, that the tourney will be held there. You got to love how confident he is. Maybe Donald does not realize the history of Congressional Country Club or the fact that it is a US OPEN venue. Get-R-Done Donald or else…Your Fired!
